I think this would be a film that the UK Film Council would be interested in; it is an original idea that would work well in cinema. They would be an ideal source for money to make the film.
This film would be watched by a number of groups, anyone interested in horror or thriller films would watch it. Also, many teenagers would be interested as the main character is a teenage girl.
The titles in my opening sequence list the key members needed to make the film, such as director, producer, costume and star actors.
Screening for my film would start small, then if successful more screenings would be considered. A film that has been released like this is My Summer of Love. First released at Edinburgh Film Festival in 2004, film festivals are good places to start with small films such as mine.
The UK Film Council work on making 'non-mainstream' movies more accessable to a wider audience, they do this by having a Digital Screen Network which screen non mainstream films regularly.
Once my production company have finished the film, they would try and make a deal with a distrbuter, who would print coppies of my film and dispatch it to cinemas.

Looking back at my Preliminary Task, I see that I have learnt a lot about editing and filming in general. Before doing this project I had vague knowledge of editing, only knowing how to add titles and cut the footage, now I would feel confident in editing something more complicated. My Preliminary Task was very basic but the camera work was quite good. In my film because I wasn't working in a group (with no one to help me), i found it hard directing and filming at the same time, I had to re-take many of the scenes until it was right. But this ending up being a good thing because some of the scenes were unusable.
Because the Preliminary task was about continuity I was very careful to keep everything looking the same without any mistakes. This proved very hard, as I has to film over two days and we were using my sister's room which got more messy in between filming. However, I made sure that I stuck to the 180 degree rule, as this would make the video make sense, breaking the rule would confuse the whole film.

Using Adobe Premier Pro to edit my film on a Dell computer.
The tripod I used, very useful, minimising camera shake.
The camera I used to shoot the footage.I have learnt many things about media from this task, how to use editing software, setting up equipment ready to film and the process of filming. I feel that I have made good progress in furthering my knowledge of camera and filming, as before this production my knowledge was minimal. To carry out such a task it was necessary for me to use many different programs, such as; youtube.com, blogger.com, adobe premier, photoshop, facebook.com, and paint. With this software it was much easier for me to complete this task.

The title of my film is clearly visible in the 4th still in the image above, shown over a shot of the pills is a good background for the title. The setting, as you can see, is a teenage girl's bedroom, which looks normal at first glance, but in the 3rd still you can see that the pictures stuck on the wall have their eyes crossed out. The costume I chose to dress my acress in are all/mostly black, which adds to the character's dark life. There are two panning shots in this film, one going from the left to right of the wall, the second is from the right to left, I think this works well, as it gives you some of the setting in two simple shots. The font I chose to use is simple and doesn't take anything away from the footage, at the same time it is bold, so that it is noticed.
The opening to my title sequence is key to the whole story, as she is blogging about her class mates and the words "The End" are typed onto the screen. This makes the viewer wonder about this small detail, which ends up being a huge part of the movie.
My title sequence is quite dark and this makes the film fall into it's genre of thriller/horror movie, we don't see Billy's face clearly untill the end of the opening, before that she is shown from the back, or in a mirror. This adds some mystery to her character.

Kirsty Linfoot, the actress in my video. And a screenshot of Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club.
These two characters are quite similar, they both are ignored and bullied for being different, holding grudges against their peers. They are also similar in dress, choosing to wear black, in Kirsty's case this is to blend in, so she is not noticed and bullied. But i think in Ally's case, her character wore black as a statement of personality.
